전파 망원경은 radio, TV, RADAR 기타 전기장비와의 전자기파 차단을 위해 도심에서 떨어진 산간지방 계곡안에 자리하고 있읍니다.  Rosman, North Carolina 도 산이 많은 관계로

사진에서의 지름 26 meter 전파 망원경도 전자기파 간섭을 피하기 위해 이곳에 있읍니다.  이 전파 망원경은 별들의 관측을 목표로 Dr. Brian Dennison (University of North Carolina)가 이끄는 

team 에 의해 만들어 졌읍니다.  이곳에 오시기 위해 예약은 필요가 없으나 public tour calendar 를 WWW.PARI.EDU 에서 꼭 보시고 오셔야 됩니다. 숙박시설도 있어 사전에 예약하시면 전문가의 도움을 받아 밤에 별들을 관측하실수 있읍니다.  그리고 Blue Ridge Parkway 가 근처에 있기때문에 차를 타고 좋은 경치도 관광하실수 있고 등산도 하실수 있읍니다.   radio telescope.JPG
